How to shop for commercial audio & video
Commercial audio components and speakers offer flexible, customizable, cost-efficient options for adding great sound to restaurants, gyms, retail stores, churches, and just about any other venue.
Commercial audio systems — sometimes referred to as 70-volt systems — work differently from traditional home theater and stereo setups. They can play music and other audio, like paging and white noise, throughout multiple rooms in spaces of all sizes.

Commercial amplifiers
Commercial amplifiers work differently from traditional home theater or stereo amplifiers because they allow for greater configuration flexibility and efficient power distribution throughout a commercial space.
They come in a range of sizes, from smaller commercial amps that can be used to power music in a single room or drive a sound-masking system, to larger models that efficiently distribute power to multiple speakers in different listening zones. Some systems may require multiple amplifiers.
Commercial amps are highly configurable for various different source and speaker setups, and use DSP (digital signal processing) to fine-tune sound.
Commercial mixers
Commercial mixers let you connect a variety of wired and wireless components — music streamers, microphones, sound output from a TV, etc. — and adjust volume for each independently.
Commercial audio sources
Wireless streamers (you'll need a commercial subscription), CD players, radio tuners, microphones, sound-masking systems, commercial TVs and projectors, and other components can all be incorporated into a commercial sound system.
Surface-mount speakers
Surface-mount speakers attach securely to walls or posts. Most models include adjustable brackets that let you aim the speaker where you want.
In-wall and in-ceiling speakers
In-wall and in-ceiling speakers offer discreet placement options and keep your workspace uncluttered.
Landscape speakers
Rugged landscape speakers for outdoor spaces can blend into patio, pool, or garden landscaping.
Pendant speakers
If you have high ceilings in a spacious room, hanging pendant speakers bring sound down where people can hear it.
Subwoofers
Commercial subwoofers provide ultra-low frequeny audio that lets you feel the rumble.
Wireless streaming music
You can connect a wireless network streamer to a commercial mixer. That way, you can choose playlists from music services (you'll need a commercial subscription), internet radio, or other streaming sources.
Bluetooth® lets you enjoy wireless music streaming from any compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer through a commercial audio system. Some commercial mixers have this feature built in, while others may offer it as an add-on option.
Transfomer taps
Commercial speakers have transformer taps that let you select how much amplifier wattage each will draw. That lets you balance the power depending on how many speakers you have connected. The higher the tap value, the louder the speaker will play.
Phoenix connectors
Phoenix connectors are small form-factor speaker plugs that fit into removable, modular banks on the back of commercial amplfiers. That way, you can make your connections at a work table, then pop the phoenix module into the back of the amp.
Multi-zone audio
Commercial systems in multi-room buildings can play different sources in different rooms. You can use a single multi-channel amp if your space itsn't too big. Bigger commercial spaces might require a separate zone amp for each location.
Your commercial system design may include power protection, speaker wire, audio cables, HDMI cables, and A/V racks and mounts. You can also get in-wall volume controls and source selectors, along with a variety of transformers and adapters that help you route and install your commercial sound wherever you need it.
If your space has a lot of sound-reflective surfaces like glass and bare concrete, acoustic panels can effectively reduce echoes and reverberations that cause unclear, unpleasant sound.
