Pair with Pioneer's SPH-10BT
Pair with Pioneer's SPH-10BT
Pioneer's SPH-10BT digital media receiver is a nifty solution for drivers looking for a smartphone-centric stereo who are restricted by a single-DIN dash cavity. Making good use of your smartphone's touchscreen, Pioneer's ND-PS1 rear parking sensors work with the SPH-10BT (not included) to detect obstacles and display directional warnings and distance from impact.
Professional installation recommended
Pioneer includes four sensors that must be installed in your bumper. This will require modification of your vehicle and special tools — this installation is not recommended for first-time DIYers. Additionally, some wire-splicing is required, and you'll need to find a location to stash the included control box out of sight.
Note: The ND-PS1 will not work when installed in metal bumpers and the included sensors will lose functionality if painted.

Features
Rear Parking Sensor System: Pioneer's ND-PS1 rear parking sensor system is designed to be connected directly to Pioneer's SPH-10BT digital media receiver (sold separately). When connected, you can back in and out of a parking spot easier and safer thanks to the audio and visual illumination warnings on the Pioneer SPH-10BT in-dash receiver. Additionally, when used in conjunction with Pioneer's SPH-10BT and the Pioneer Smart Sync App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+), you can also experience the parking assist display on your compatible smartphone screen. The Pioneer ND-PS1 rear parking sensor system consists of a hide-away module, four parking sensors, a 16.5' system cable, 39" power/ground harness, 19mm hole-saw bit, hook-n-loop fastener, and cable-ties.
Note: This rear parking sensor system is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the Pioneer ND-PS1 when backing-up. In addition to using the ND-PS1, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.
Parking Sensor Warnings: The ND-PS1 rear parking sensor system provides audio and visual warnings on the Pioneer SPH-10BT receiver and the Pioneer Smart Sync App on your compatible Apple iOS and Android OS smartphone device. The audio warnings will be heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the visual warnings will be displayed either on the Pioneer SPH-10BT's front-panel LCD screen or the LCD touchscreen of your compatible smartphone using the Pioneer Smart Sync App. As your vehicle moves in reverse, the approximate distance warning will change.
Sensor Functions | |
---|---|
Distance To the Object | Receiver's Display Color and Warning Sound |
More than 60" | Green with no sound |
60" to 40" | Yellow with a slow intermittent beep sound |
40" to 20" | Orange with an intermittent beep sound |
Less than 20" | Red with a continuous beep sound |
Note: The ND-PS1 only provides audio and visual warnings when your vehicle is put in reverse gear. Make sure the Pioneer SPH-10BT receiver's Revers-Gear Signal Input wire (Violet/White) and the the ND-PS1's Power wire (Red) is connected to your vehicle's reverse gear circuit.
Hide-Away Module w/ System Cable: The included hide-away module is not waterproof and must be installed inside the vehicle. A hook-and-loop fastener is supplied to mount the module. The module also features integrated mounting flanges that allow you to secure the module in place with screws (mounting screws are not included). The main system cable measures 16.5' and is plugged into the "Data" port of the hide-away module and the 4-pin port on back of the Pioneer SPH-10BT receiver. Make sure to choose a mounting location inside your vehicle for the hide-away module that is adequate for the length of the system cable (16.5' total) and parking sensor cables (8' total). The hide-away module measures 4.1875" (w) x 0.875" (h) x 3.0" (d).
Note: Do not attempt to shorten or lengthen the main system connector cable.
4 Parking Sensors: All 4 parking sensors will mount to the rear bumper of your vehicle and are IP67 waterproof rated. A 19mm hole-saw bit is included to flush-mount the parking sensors in your vehicle's bumper (a minimum of 1" in depth behind the bumper's surface is required to mount the sensors). The parking sensors must be mounted between 1.8125' and 2.125" from the ground. The parking sensors should be mounted 1.3125" apart and aligned with the center of the bumper (see Instruction Manual for diagram). Each sensor has an attached 6" cable and detachable 7.5' that plugs into the hide-away module. Make sure the sensors are plugged into the appropriate two-pin ports (labeled "A", "B", "C", and "D") on the module in relation to the mounting location on your vehicle's bumper (see Instruction Manual for more diagram). The outer diameter of each parking sensor is 1.0".
- The sensors will not work when installed in metal bumpers or when they are painted.
- Do not attempt to shorten or lengthen the attached or detachable cables of the parking sensors.
Power/Ground Harness: The 3-pin connector of the power/ground harness plugs into the module's "Power" port, while the Red wire connects to your vehicle's parking brake circuit (12V+) and the Black wire is grounded to your vehicle's metal chassis.
